Palm Beach County lightning safety procedures and policies.
While most of you are very responsive and responsible during this rainy season it was brought to our attention that some sport providers, parents or players, are reluctant to cancel the games or practices due to the rain/lightning.
Although, we do not have lightning alert systems at our athletic fields in Palm Beach County, the sports program administrator, in this case the permitted provider, is responsible for monitoring conditions and removing play from the fields immediately – not waiting.
Personal vigilance and responsibility to stop all activities is paramount for lightning safety.
