Dear AYSO 1370 Families, Coaches, and Spectators,
We want to take a moment to remind everyone of the core values that make AYSO a positive and enjoyable soccer experience for all players, coaches, referees, and families. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced instances of inappropriate sideline behavior, including verbal abuse, unsportsmanlike conduct, and a lack of respect towards referees and players.
AYSO 1370 has a zero-tolerance policy regarding verbal and physical abuse, including threats, bullying, and intimidation towards referees, players, and other participants. We want to emphasize that any such behavior will not be tolerated, and individuals who engage in these actions will be subject to disciplinary measures, including immediate removal from the field. This applies to coaches, parents, and spectators alike.

Game Management & Handling Lopsided Matches
We also want to reinforce our expectations regarding sportsmanship in one-sided games. When a team is dominating and the scoreline increases significantly, it is the coach’s responsibility to show respect for the game and the opponents by managing the match appropriately. Coaches should consider adjusting positions, limiting goal-scoring opportunities, or implementing team-based challenges to ensure a more balanced and developmental experience for both teams.

Monitoring & Enforcement
Moving forward, we will be closely monitoring behaviors from players, coaches, and spectators to ensure compliance with AYSO’s guidelines. If a coach, parent, or spectator exhibits inappropriate behavior, they will be instructed to leave the field or coaching area immediately. Further disciplinary action, including suspensions or bans, may follow as outlined in our policies.
